i’m considering dropping upton for coco crisp and uggla for orlando hudson. the uggla pick was undoubtedly my worst. i had made a rule that i wouldnt pick a 2nd baseman not named utley until the 15th round but i let the clock run out accidently in that round. total bummer.
Sure, I enjoy talking about your teams, and helping out.
Here is what I see:
I personally do not like using a 2nd round pick on Hanley Ramirez. I just do not think that he is worth that. Players like Vernon Wells, Matt Holliday, Jason Bay, or even Ichiro would have been a better pick in the 2nd round. I like the Helton pick to counteract Jones’ and Swisher’s lower averages. However, even with that, and Pujols, your batting average will be hurting.
I really like your rotation. It is solid, young (except for Schilling), and full of strikeout pitchers. Your bullpen is also very good, except using a 4th round pick on Ryan is a bit of a reach in a 10 team league.
As for your possible waiver moves. Don’t drop Uggla! Because he has value to many owners, try to trade for an extra outfielder, preferably one that will help your batting average. Then drop Upton to get Hudson. The only other move that I would make would be to drop Neshek if Scot Shields, Mike Gonzalez, or Joel Zumaya are still out there.
Keep the questions rolling in.
