Exciting Announcement

Apr 28th, 2007 by winabango

At 1:30pm yesterday afternoon my wife and I had our 2nd child come into the world. Mom and baby are both doing awesome.

So watch out, now there will be 2 #1 draft picks in fantasy baseball. So anyone in a deep (OK VERY DEEP) keeper league, take note. My sons will be first round picks in the 2029 fantasy baseball draft.

Congrats! My three sons are 5,3 and 1 currently, so they can hang out in bigs together when they get there!
you looked at my roster earlier and we talked about not chasing wins (with Lance Cormier- good call). My auction strategy was to buy, then draft several middle/set-up men with good peripherals and a chance to close to go along with starters, Zito, Sabathia, Bush, Bedard and Bonser. I have since picked up Glen Perkins and Ricky Nolasco. My starting pitching has not quite held up its end of the bargain, but M. Gonzalez, F Cabrera, Valverde, Wuertz, Tankersley, and Broxton have done pretty well and am leading the league in K’s. With Ricky starting now, I have one week to drop a player to make room on my active roster (I’d like to do it by Nolasco’s next start). Should I drop Wuertz or Perkins?

    Congrats!

What do you think of dropping Lo Duca for Hunter Pence?

My two sons names are Cody (2 years old) and Brady (1 week old) Pfleiger. Cody is a southpaw with a D-Train leg kick, and a low 20’s fastball. Actually I was catching him pitching tonight, and was amazed how many pitches were thrown right to me.

    Kuhndog,
Good to hear from you again. Perkins has solid upside, and has definite keeper value. However, at this point I think that Wuertz is the better pitcher right now. He also has a track record of K rates over 9 since 2004.

    Alec,
If LoDuca is your backup catcher, then yes, drop him for Hunter Pence. I don’t recommend going without a catcher though.
