Another Prospect on the way, and the return of the Rocket

May 6th, 2007 by winabango

The Rocket Returns:

In exciting news this year for fantasy baseball owners, Roger Clemens announced today that he will be pitching for the Yankees. He hopes to be ready by the end of the month. He is a definite must have in all leagues with his ability mixing with the fantastic Yankee offense.

Another Prospect:

The LA Dodgers have called up Andy LaRoche to replace a struggling Wilson Betemit. MLB.com had Andy ranked 8th in the list of top 100 prospects, and Baseball America had him ranked 19th. LaRoche has not been setting the minors on fire, but is apparently a better fit then Betemit. Here is line form this year:

.235 Ave with 3 HR in 98 at bats

In most leagues he is worth watching, but not picking up right now. Hunter Pence and Billy Butler would be better choices at this point. If you are in a very deep league, or an NL Only league, he is worth taking a long look at.  He should hit 10-15 homeruns, and is going to get a good amount of playing time to start.
