Possible Sleeper on the waiver wire
May 7th, 2007 by winabango
Last week Atlanta finally got rid of Ryan Langerhans, and his awful batting average of .093. Oakland promptly traded him to Washington, which is where all the sucky hitters end up. Anyway, Langerhans departure has opened the door for a possible sleeper in the Atlanta outfield; Matt Diaz. He has hit .295 for the year so far with 2 homeruns and a stolen base. He is not worth anything at this point in most mixed leagues, but keep a close watch. If his playing time continues to increase with Langerhans being traded, his production may be worth a pickup in deep mixed leagues and a definite in NL Only leagues.
