Time for Gallardo
Jun 14th, 2007 by winabango
As many of you have already noticed, the Brewers have finally called up Gallardo. If you are a daily reader, then you know that I am very happy about this actually happening. I personally think that Gallardo will out pitch Lincecum and Hughes, and they received more press. No one is sure as to whether or not he stays with the club once Capuano is back in the rotation, but he is worth grabbing in all league formats.
What makes Gallardo so special? How about 98 strikeouts in only 71.2 innings. His ERA and WHIP are very solid, and has a fairly average BABIP of .293. That means that his ERA is a true reflection of his abilities. Add in Milwaukee’s solid offense, and the very weak NL Central, and you have a very good situation to succeed.
