Left vs. Right

I was doing some research for a pitch-and-ditch option, and I looked at some stats that I think should be shared with all of you. Now, those of you that have been doing this a long time may think that this is a no-brainer, but for those of you who are new to Fantasy Baseball, this may be news to you. I want to share the five best teams and the five worst teams vs left-handed and right-handed pitchers. This is a key item that may sway your decision for a pitch-and-ditch option. Like I said, this is not a new thing, but it helps to be reminded about the simple things to look at during a season.
5 Best Teams (batting ave) vs. Lefties
Detroit - .306
Toronto - .295
Seattle - .290
NY Mets - .290
LA Dodgers - .289
5 Best Teams (batting average) vs. Righties
NY Yankees - .293
Detroit - .285
LA Angels - .283
Philadelphia - .279
Chicago Cubs - .276
5 Worst Teams (batting average) vs. Lefties
Oakland - .246
Chicago Sox - .243
San Francisco - .240
Cincinnati - .239
Arizona - .233
5 Worst Teams (batting average) vs. Righties
Toronto - .248
Pittsburgh - .247
Chicago Sox - .247
Washington - .243
San Diego - .236
As you can tell, Detroit can kill all pitching. Toronto may by the second best team in batting average against lefties, but they are 26th against righties. Now that is good information to carry in the back of your mind when selecting a pitcher. San Diego is not only last against right-handed pitching, but they are also in the bottom third against Lefties as well. Believe it or not, the Royals are ranked 19th against lefties, and 17th against righties.
Like I said, this is not rocket science, but it is something that is very valuable to making decisions.
