Joe Nathan has option picked up
Oct 29th, 2007 by winabango
The Minnesota Twins exercised their team option on Joe Nathan. I have updated the 2008 MLB Free Agents page to reflect the resigning. As I said on that page, Nathan’s complete 2008 fantasy value is still going to fluctuate. No one can argue with his extremely steady performance, but additional changes are needed to make Nathan a top closer in fantasy. I personally would begin to target him for 2008. The Twins may lose Torii Hunter and Carlos Silva, but if they can replace them with younger cheaper players, then Nathan may get more save opportunities then he did in 2008. The return of Francisco Liriano and the slight possibility of a Johan Santana trade will probably play a larger role in 2008 value.
Keep watching the Free Agents page for updates.
