Baseball on Easter?
Mar 23rd, 2008 by winabango
As opening day draws closer and closer, Fantasy Baseball drafts are finishing up. There is a resurgence of Hope Eternal for Fantasy Owners, and fans of MLB teams. That is of course unless you live in Baltimore, San Francisco, or Oakland. Even though it is the beginning of the baseball season, I would be remiss if I did not talk about the Eternal Hope that Easter brings. Today is the day that Jesus did what no other teacher, philosopher, or prophet was able to do. He arose from the grave and conquered death. What an awesome site that must have been for Mary. Saddened and scared, she went to the tomb where Jesus laid only to find that the doorway was moved. Unfortunately for me, I would have been stuck on the idea that some dude was able to move a huge rock, and I would have completely missed the fact that the person I was going to see was gone. Not carried out, or hauled away on a stretcher. He just simply sat up, stretched his arms, and walked out. How surprising is that? It would be like drafting some guy named A-Rod with your final pick of the keeper league draft when the computer messed up and auto-picked for you. I am not really sure where I am trying to go with this, but I just wanted to share my thoughts on the Easter holiday.
- Curtis Granderson broke his finger yesterday. I was watching the game yesterday, since the Tigers were playing the Phillies. Granderson made an awesome diving catch on a ball hit by Jimmy Rollins, and I am not sure if that is when he was injured or not. Unfortunately, I have him in the Fantasy Gameday league, and now that he is starting the year on the DL, I have some maneuvering that I need to do already.
- I also noticed that Miguel Cabrera has certainly lost plenty of weight for this season.
- For those of you who had asked, Here is the 2008 FGD Draft in spreadsheet form for the Fantasy Gameday league. This is one serious league that is going to be a lot of fun to do.
- The final item that I have for you are the changes that have been completed over at MLB Front Office. Brad and the guys have done a great job with a complete, and I mean complete, overhaul of the design of the site. Click HERE to check out the newly redesigned MLB Front Office.
