2010 Baseball ADP
Mar 11th, 2010 by winabango
This is the official page where you can find the 2010 Fantasy Baseball Average Draft Position and Scarcity Report.
The official 2010 Fantasy Baseball Average Draft Position and Scarcity Report (Version 2) is now available. This is the ultimate resource that started it all, and has grown to over 650 players this year. It now provides trending information from the 2009 season to this season, and also from the first version of ADP. That means you can easily tell who fell out of favor since last year, and since January. We also gathered data from “expert” and regular user draft from multiple sites including Mock Draft Central, Yahoo, ESPN, CBS Sportsline, Fantasy baseball Cafe, and Fox Sports to name a few. This means that the Average Draft Position data we provide is not influenced by the rankings on a particular site. There are several other sites that provide ADP data, but non of them provide it in a tiered format like we do. Sure you could get you ADP data from other sites, but why would you?
Here are some of the benefits of our ADP data over other sites.
- A total of 708 players are tracked
- Average round calculations for multiple league sizes
- Scarcity Reports that split the ADP data into tiers
- Trending information from 2009 to 2010
- Trending data from version 1 to version 2
- Player notes on injuries
- Additional notes for players that are top 10 in certain stats
- Compiled data from various sources.
- Special notations for multiple position players
- It is Free
Yes… I saved the best part for last. All of this great information is FREE.
However, there is one place where you can help. This year I am shamelessly promoting my local baseball ministry, Athletes for Christ. I am currently serving as the Director of Baseball Operations, and we currently need to purchase equipment and advertising for our summer clinics. So, I am asking for a voluntary donation towards the ADP tool. In which 20% of all the proceeds will go towards the ministry. Please don’t feel pressured to donate, but every little bit will help (even if it’s only a dollar). Donations are accepted through the paypal “donate” link on the right side panel of the site.
If you used the ADP last season, and it helped you out, please post your story in the comments section. In addition, please post a link to this resource on as many message boards as possible. I really need the help in telling the world about this FREE resource, but of course, I can understand if you don’t tell your league mates.
Now that I am done boring you with all the details, download the report and enjoy Fantasy Baseball in 2010!
2010 Fantasy Baseball Average Draft Position and Scarcity Report Version 2

awesome. simply awesome.
Thank you. thank you thank you. WOW
Great report, but why do you have Frank Thomas, Garciaparra, Maddux, Sosa, Luis Gonzalez, Glavine (to name a few) in the list when they have retired?
two main reasons…
1) to show people that these players are no longer playing, don’t think about drafting them if you see them in the rankings.
2) I left the ones that were selected last year in the ADP as well. Thus showing trending information.
This rocks! You the man!
Love the Scarcity Reports.
Thanks for putting this together.
This really is great. The only thing I can think of that could improve it (and trust me, I think it’s amazing already) is to include average auction values as well. Many leagues seem to be switching over to auction drafts and including that information would make your spreadsheet relevant to even more people. Again, thank you, and please don’t take this as an insult…just a suggestion.
Best Draft Tool Ever!
Thanks for all the work and the site is great.
Thank you for your great work and making this a free tool! I’ll gladly help you and your efforts in your b-ball ministry also!
In 2009 Alex Rodriguez had hip surgery and was being drafted in the second round of most drafts. Why does it say in your spread sheet that he was going 2 overall?
I know this is nit-picking but I thought I would ask.
I can certainly explain the A-Rod item. Last year I released the final version in late February, which was before he had his hip injury diagnosed. In fact, if I remember correctly. that came out within 1 week of the final release. That is why I tried to stagger this year’s offerings to allow for early Spring Training changes.
@ Pat…
No offense taken. I agree that average auction values will be a great addition, especially now that mainstream sites are offering that. The difficulty is auction value are not as readily available early in the off-season. So it might be something that gets added in the second version of next year’s ADP.
Each year I try to add a new element into the ADP. This year’s new addition was all the news and notes. I also planned on adding in average rankings from 5 major sites, but ultimately did not have enough time.
So I guess there is plenty of work still to be done.
Thanks for the great resource!!
A few questions: Do all your ADP sources based on the same scoring format, and if so, what is that format? Is it 5×5 rotisserie (hr, r, rbi, sb, ba, W, S, ERA, WHIP, K)?
The majority were 5×5 format. A couple had stats like holds, and OBP as stats. A couple were H2H mock drafts.
